Legislation on Mobile Phones and Driving
A mobile phone headset can help you stay on the correct side of the law.
In the UK it has been illegal since 1st December 2003 to use a "handheld phone, or similar device", when driving. A hands-free device is permitted provided that it can be operated without the driver holding it. However, you the driver still risk being prosecuted for failing to have proper control of a vehicle under Regulation 104 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 if you use a hands-free phone when driving.
